Job Title: Research Scientist IV

Salary: $101,809-$121,484
The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a full time Research Scientist IV. The position holder (Whitaker Scholar) will be developing clinical, teaching, and research skills in the Whitaker Scholar Program for Developmental Neuropsychiatry. In this capacity, the Scholar will provide consultation and direct service to improve the care of persons having both developmental disorders and/or emotional/behavioral problems. The Scholar will develop didactic sessions for child psychiatry Fellows. The Scholar will take a role in the development of clinical research studies on autism spectrum disorder and co-morbid psychiatric disorders and in systematic reviews on topics of interest to the Scholar.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Scholar will attend a weekly program meeting, weekly supervision with mentors, and attend Child Psychiatry Research and Division meetings.
- The Scholar will attend trainings on autism and other developmental disorders.
- The Scholar will provide consultations to clinics/services on complex cases involving developmental disabilities.
- The Scholar will develop didactic presentations and conduct systematic reviews on topics of interest to the Scholar.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
- Applicant must have completed both general and child/adolescent psychiatry residence training.
- Applicant must have a minimum of one publication that demonstrates an interest in autism and developmental disorders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Applicant must be fluent in at least one language besides English
- Applicant must have worked and volunteered with persons with neurodevelopmental disabilities in the past.
