Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time special education teaching position offers an opportunity to work with middle and high school students in Life Skills classrooms within a supportive educational environment. Located in the Kingston, NH area, this contract role spans the school year and is ideal for educators skilled in individualizing instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students in grades 6-8 or 9-12
- Creating lesson plans focused on life skills development and functional academics
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including related service providers, parents, and general education teachers
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Maintaining compliant records and participating in school meetings and professional development
Desired qualifications/experience:
- Valid special education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities in life skills or similar settings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Commitment to fostering student independence and success
Location: Kingston, NH (serving middle and high school students)
