Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a juvenile detention center located in York, PA. This role focuses on delivering specialized education within a secure lockdown facility, assisting students with their online learning programs while adhering to a structured environment. The position is contracted from ASAP through May 29, 2026, with a schedule typically from 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM, including a one-hour unpaid lunch break (the timing of which may vary daily).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain a focused, distraction-free classroom atmosphere; cell phones and accessories are strictly prohibited during work hours.
• Support students with online learning activities, ensuring engagement and educational progress.
• Collaborate with staff, including a Physical Education teacher present three days a week, to address student needs holistically.
• Uphold safety and security protocols within the juvenile detention center environment.

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with special education students, preferably in secure or juvenile justice settings.
• Strong ability to maintain focus and foster productive learning in a structured environment.
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.

• Worksite is in a juvenile detention center in York, PA (3564 Heindel Rd., York, PA 17402).
