A specialized nursing role is available for experienced stepdown RNs skilled in cardiac care. This contract opportunity is based in Derry, NH, offering a chance to work in a focused cardiac stepdown unit with a diverse range of advanced cardiac procedures and telemetry monitoring.

Location:Derry is a vibrant New Hampshire community known for its welcoming neighborhoods and proximity to metropolitan amenities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care for patients in a 24-bed Cardiac Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 1:4 during both day and night shifts
  • Utilize telemetry monitoring to observe cardiac rhythms and promptly respond to abnormalities
  • Manage care for patients post-TAVR, cardiac catheterizations, cardiac ablations, Watchman device procedures, STEMI interventions, pacemakers, and CardioMEMS implants
  • Administer and monitor cardiac drips and advanced cardiac therapies
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, patient care technicians, and monitor techs to ensure cohesive patient care
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the Allscripts electronic health record system
  • Adhere to unit policies and hospital protocols to ensure patient safety and high-quality care
  • Participate in scheduling rotations including every other weekend coverage and floating within like units

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure with stepdown and telemetry nursing experience
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring and advanced cardiac nursing procedures
  • Experience caring for patients receiving post-TAVR, ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and related cardiac interventions
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment with a dedicated cardiac patient population

Schedule:

  • Every other weekend required
  • Possible floating to similar units within the hospital
