Industrial Sales position to cover territory in North Central Texas and Oklahoma


This is a position with base and commission with total compensation in the range of $100,000 to $115,000


From our beginning in 1964, Lift-All Company has grown to be the largest and most well known manufacturer of slings for overhead lifting and load securement products in North America. Our products are sold through industrial distributors and contractor supply houses in the US and abroad.


We are looking for an experienced, driven, disciplined, hard working, and creative person centrally located in this territory, to grow sales in the assigned territory by managing our distributors, minimizing channel conflicts, and building brand loyalty. This position requires the ability to speak in front of groups, manage relationships with distributor salespeople, and, after training, to conduct in-plant safety seminars and inspections for our customers. Experience in industrial/construction sales and/or industrial/construction distribution is beneficial.


Overnight travel is required and can average up to three nights a week. The candidate will ideally reside centrally within the territory listed above. Overnight Travel – up to 50%

DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Promote Lift-All brand and products by contacting established and prospective customers for the purpose of selling Lift-All products and offering general and technical support to our customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Creates and implements written territory sales plan, with emphasis on target accounts and those that have the greatest potential for growth, to include: Calling on existing customers and distributors, Calling on prospective customers, Creating and implementing market specific promotions, Attending trade shows
  2. Builds relationships with distributors, outside sales representatives and key decision makers for local, regional and national accounts. Acts as point of contact on product knowledge and product distribution, including price and recommended supply levels.
  3. Maintains communication in a cooperative, professional and timely manner with internal staff including customer service, engineering, accounting, marketing and plant personnel.
  4. Maintains up-to-date understanding of industry trends, product development and pricing that affect market conditions.
  5. Maintains accurate records related to customer data base including current and prospective clients.
  6. Uses expenses judiciously and properly maintains company equipment (cars, computer, cell phone, show booths, samples, and literature).
  7. Maintains appropriate credentials to conduct safety seminars and inspect chain slings, synthetic slings, wire mesh slings, wire rope slings and tie downs.
  8. Travels for meetings with customers and distributors, to attend training, to conduct seminars or inspections and to attend trade shows.
  9. Works with sales management to ensure appropriate decisions concerning pricing, returns, and policy deviations.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in related field; 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training. Three years or related work experience equates to one year of formal accredited education. Demonstrated competency in the use of technology and computers for retrieval of information, including use of Microsoft office software (word, excel, etc.). Experience with CRM and or ERP software preferred.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to effectively present information during formal training of a technical nature, and respond to questions from customers, managers, and coworkers in various departments of the company. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to complete internal reports and business correspondence to both internal coworkers and external customers.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as basic algebra and geometry to practical situations.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to work in an environment with interruptions. Able to resolve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization in procedures exists. Ability to understand exception items and seek guidance when creating new processes or standards of operations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds while performing inspections in which kneeling is also required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.


TRAVEL: Overnight travel, by vehicle and or/or flights, is required approximately 50% of the time to include travel time. Typical travel requirements include 2 to 3 nights a week, 3 out of 4 weeks of the month. A formal review of the incumbent’s driver’s record is performed annually. Incumbents must maintain an active eligible driver’s license and meet the eligibility to operate a vehicle due to the responsibility to safely operate a company leased vehicle.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a home office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate while in the home office or while traveling. The noise level may be elevated while performing inspections at customer locations. Use of PPE is required.
