JOB DETAILS
Base pay starts at $19.50 per hour
Night Shift: 6:00 pm - 6:00 am
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Welder must be competent in welding and fitting skills which encompass all special welding certifications for pipe, tube, CJP scenarios etc. Must be able to fit up all types of rigid frame columns, rafters, and beam canopies according to specifications.
- Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment.
- To weld out completely according to specifications to include all types of structural assembles.
- Responsible for coordination of welder settings, gun speed/travel and gas flow with observed condition of bead.
- Able to do some minor maintenance on welding machine/gun and gas setup.
- The ability to decide when welder adjustment, or gun manipulation needs to be altered.
- The ability to decide how much and what repairs to make for pin holes and burn through as caused by auto weld.
- Ability to train and teach proper welding procedures in accordance with manufacturing job procedures.
- Responsible for carrying spools of wire to machine (65 lbs).
- Ability to operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
- Ability to operate hand power tools on a regular basis.
- Responsible for holding bead to specified shape, size and penetrations while maintain quality of product.
- Responsible for keeping numerical and alphabetical sequences correct.
- Practice good housekeeping skills around work area.
- Special projects as required.
- May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- A minimum of one (1) year experience welding and fitting in a production environment or valid welding certification
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Ability to obtain and maintain CWB and AWS welding certification in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands welding procedures
- Experience with forklift and/or overhead crane operation a plus
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
