About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Technical Writer to support the documentation needs of our advanced robotics and research programs. This role is critical to transforming complex technical procedures, research findings, and operational protocols into clear, standardized, and accessible documentation.


The ideal candidate will play a central role in defining how technical knowledge is structured, governed, released, and shared across global teams.


Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in robotics, engineering, or scientific research environments
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Demonstrated experience creating and implementing documentation standards and structured content systems
  • Proficiency with documentation tools, content management systems (CMS), and web content editing tools
  • Strong editing skills, including preparing documents for formal publication or external submission
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation such as SOPs, test reports, and maintenance manuals
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI‑based writing tools and prompt engineering for content creation and refinement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science & Engineering, or a related field


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, accurate, and structured technical documentation, including SOPs, process documentation, test reports, and maintenance guides
  • Translate complex engineering and research content into accessible documentation for diverse audiences
  • Utilize prompt engineering techniques and AI/LLM‑based content generation tools to aggregate, synthesize, and refine documentation from multiple internal sources
  • Act as the documentation release manager, overseeing the full lifecycle of documentation, including drafting, review, approval, publishing, versioning, archiving, and retirement
  • Ensure clear documentation status classification (current and approved, in progress, superseded, or archived)
  • Maintain strong governance over version control, change history, and document lineage to ensure traceability and compliance
  • Coordinate with global and cross‑functional teams to manage content ownership and approval workflows
  • Facilitate seamless knowledge transfer across geographies by ensuring teams have access to the correct and current documentation
  • Define and enforce documentation standards, templates, taxonomies, and classification systems to ensure consistency and reusability
  • Monitor dependencies across related documents to ensure alignment between processes, policies, and operational guidance
  • Serve as a central point of contact for documentation‑related questions, including status, ownership, versioning, and release timelines


Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $75000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $116000 per year

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
