Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare and apply protective coatings to marine generators and heavy equipment. You will ensure our products withstand harsh marine environments by preventing corrosion and meeting strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, grind, and abrasive-blast generator parts and structural steel to ensure proper paint adhesion.
- Masking & Protection: Tape and mask machined surfaces, wiring, and sensitive components before painting.
- Coating Application: Mix marine-grade paints (e.g., epoxies, polyurethanes) to manufacturer specifications and apply them using airless and conventional spray guns.
- Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces for even coverage, correct dry-film thickness, and defects; perform touch-ups as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot sprayers, blast pots, and ventilation fans.
- Safety & Compliance: Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, and safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial, automotive, or marine painting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pressurized painting systems using pressure pots and cup guns.
- Certifications: OSHA safety training and forklift certification are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
- Capable of standing for long periods, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
