Shop Helper
Location: N.W. Houston, TX
Pay rate: $16-18/Hr.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Shop Helper to support daily production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role assists machine operators, welders, fabricators, and production teams by handling materials, maintaining organization, preparing work areas, and ensuring smooth shop operations. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience in manufacturing and skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist production team members with daily shop operations and general labor tasks
- Move materials, tools, and finished products throughout the facility
- Load and unload raw materials, parts, and shipments as needed
- Clean and organize workstations, shop floors, and production areas
- Assist machine operators, welders, fabricators, and assemblers with production support
- Prepare materials for cutting, welding, fabrication, or assembly processes
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other basic shop equipment safely
- Help package, label, and prepare completed products for shipping or delivery
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping duties throughout the shop
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
- Support warehouse and inventory tasks when needed
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, construction, or shop experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work throughout shift
- Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
- Forklift experience is a plus but not required
