Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Illinois state license (issued by IDFPR) and ISBE PEL
- Certification from ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
Role Overview:
As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will create and execute tailored education and treatment plans for students whose communication abilities have been affected by developmental challenges, disabilities, or injuries. This position allows you to work with young children in a nurturing school setting, making a lasting difference in their growth.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Start Date: As soon as possible until the end of the school year
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
- Setting: Elementary school serving young students
- Work Mode: In-person only
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt and modify lessons and curricula to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
- Assist in facilitating IEP meetings and contribute to the development of IEPs
- Create a learning environment that is suitable for the developmental stages and interests of students
- Establish and communicate clear expectations for behavior and the school environment, utilizing positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques as necessary. Aid in the creation and implementation of student behavior intervention plans
