Job Description

We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Right Response (or comparable program) trained Paraprofessional to join a collaborative academic team in Skagit County, WA. This is a part-time, in-person, 1x1 role supporting a High School student for the 25/26 school year.

Experience in behavioral support and physical management is required for this role.


Required: Paraprofessional Certificate:

  • Issued by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in Washington State.


Position Details:

  • Location: Skagit County, WA. In-person (no virtual or hybrid options)
  • Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 12+ hours a week
  • Grade Level: High School (1:1 support for a single student)


Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a high school student, assisting with emotional regulation and behavior management using individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.
  • Implement the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and collect data to track progress.
  • Assist the student in developing social and communication skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Support the student during classroom activities, transitions, and learning tasks.
  • Collaborate with teachers, behavior teams, and support staff to ensure consistent, individualized support.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED and at least two years of study at a higher education institution, at the Associate's level or higher, OR
  • Knowledge of and experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis strategies.
  • Experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic setting. Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
