We’re currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Right Response (or comparable program) trained Paraprofessional to join a collaborative academic team in Skagit County, WA. This is a part-time, in-person, 1x1 role supporting a High School student for the 25/26 school year.
Experience in behavioral support and physical management is required for this role.
Required: Paraprofessional Certificate:
- Issued by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in Washington State.
Position Details:
- Location: Skagit County, WA. In-person (no virtual or hybrid options)
- Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Guaranteed Weekly Hours: 12+ hours a week
- Grade Level: High School (1:1 support for a single student)
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a high school student, assisting with emotional regulation and behavior management using individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies.
- Implement the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) and collect data to track progress.
- Assist the student in developing social and communication skills, including conflict resolution.
- Support the student during classroom activities, transitions, and learning tasks.
- Collaborate with teachers, behavior teams, and support staff to ensure consistent, individualized support.
- Foster a safe and supportive environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED and at least two years of study at a higher education institution, at the Associate's level or higher, OR
- Knowledge of and experience utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis strategies.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities in an academic setting. Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
