Status: Seasonal (FT & PT)

Reporting To: Home Services Manager


Position Overview:


Powder Mountain is hiring enthusiastic, dependable individuals to join our winter operations team as Snow Removal Technicians, with opportunities ranging from entry-level to advanced roles. Technicians play a vital role in ensuring safe and accessible conditions across the mountain by removing snow and ice from walkways, stairs, roads, and guest areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hazard Identification: Monitor and mitigate risks such as black ice, slippery stairs, and drainage blockages
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and best practices in winter terrain
  • Adaptability: Support additional snow removal and other duties as assigned, including during peak weather events or shift changes
  • Manual Snow & Ice Removal: Clear stairs, decks, walkways, driveways, and other key areas using hand tools
  • De-Icing & Surface Treatment: Apply salt, sand, and other de-icing agents with attention to safety and environmental impact
  • Communication & Reporting: Keep supervisors informed of site conditions, progress, safety concerns, and equipment needs
  • Team Support: Assist team members in coordinated snow clearing efforts across homes, lodges, and shared spaces
  • Gear & Appearance: Wear proper cold-weather gear and maintain a neat, professional appearance while on duty
  • Guest Service & Interaction: Greet guests and homeowners courteously. Provide friendly, helpful interactions and guidance to residents and guests throughout the HOA

Level II Performance Expectations:

  • Small Equipment Operation: Operate snow blowers and similar powered tools safely and independently
  • Mentorship & Team Support: Assist in training Basic Technicians by demonstrating proper techniques and safety practices

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Candidates are required to supply their own weather-appropriate and waterproof footwear (e.g., snow boots) and face protection (such as a balaclava)
  • Safety First Mentality: Ensure compliance to all safety regulations and company policies and inform management in case of violations
  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic and positive attitude and have reliable transportation to and from the resort in all weather conditions
  • Team-Oriented: Willing to take direction and contribute to a supportive team environment with a good attitude, positive mindset, and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environment and situation
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with shovels and de-icing tools in variable winter conditions. Willingness to learn and train
  • Communication: Reliable, clear communicator with a team-first attitude and professional guest interaction
  • Schedule Flexibility: Available for early morning shifts, weekends, holidays, and unplanned snowstorms throughout the season

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50+ pounds)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and repetitive actions
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
  • Safely handle hazardous materials


Working Environment:

Work is performed outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures, sun and wind, inclement weather (rain, wind, snow, ice) and high altitudes (9,000ft+). Team Members can be exposed to engine noise and exhaust. Team Members will be working around moving machines/equipment. Surfaces are compacted snow/ice and can become slippery.
