About Dean Snyder Construction (DSC) Dean Snyder Construction is a family- and employee-owned construction company with over 67 years of experience. Founded in 1958 in Clear Lake, Iowa, DSC now employs approximately 250 people with locations in Iowa and Nebraska and projects throughout the Midwest. In 2020, DSC became an ESOP company, giving employees an ownership stake in the company’s success. DSC delivers high-quality design and construction services across commercial, industrial, healthcare, and manufacturing markets, with a strong focus on integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships.
The Construction Recruiter – Hybrid is responsible for attracting, sourcing, and hiring top talent for all Dean Snyder Construction (DSC) locations. This position manages the full recruiting lifecycle and serves as a key ambassador for DSC through school outreach, career fairs, and workforce development partnerships. The Recruiter also provides operational workforce support through cross-training with the Workforce Manager.
This position offers a high level of variety, combining recruiting strategy, hands-on outreach, relationship building, travel, and operational support—no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities
· Source and recruit candidates for both field and office positions across all DSC locations
· Represent DSC at schools, career fairs, and community outreach events
· Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, trade programs, and workforce development partners
· Manage full-cycle recruiting, including candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, and job offers
· Collaborate closely with hiring managers to meet staffing needs and deliver positive candidate experience
· Support workforce development programs, including apprenticeships, internships, and onboarding efforts
· Partner with the Marketing team on employer branding, social media recruiting, and promotional campaigns
· Cross-train in Workforce Coordinator duties to provide operational coverage and support as needed
Qualifications
· Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, or human resources (construction or skilled trades experience preferred)
· Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
· Willingness to travel frequently and occasionally work evenings or weekends
· Possess a valid driver’s license and meets the company’s Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) standards.
Work Environment
· Hybrid role combining office work, remote flexibility, and significant travel
· Seasonal travel estimated at 40–50%
