About the Role
We are seeking a bilingual (English & Spanish preferred) Chaplain to support patients, families, and caregivers through the emotional and spiritual journey of hospice care. As a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), the Chaplain provides spiritual guidance, counseling, and emotional support tailored to the beliefs and values of each individual.
What You'll Do
- Provide Spiritual and Emotional Support - Conduct spiritual assessments and offer pastoral care that aligns with the unique needs and beliefs of each patient and their family.
- Be a Comforting Presence - Visit patients regularly, offering compassionate care and prayer as desired. Celebrate birthdays and special moments with patients and their families.
- Facilitate Connections - Work with community clergy and religious organizations to ensure patients have access to the faith-based support they need.
- Participate in Care Planning - Collaborate with the IDT to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Lead Memorial Services - Offer support by conducting or assisting with memorial and funeral services as requested.
What We're Looking For
- Bilingual in English & Spanish (Preferred) - Ability to provide spiritual care to a diverse patient population.
- Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field (Preferred)
- Experience in Healthcare or Hospice (Preferred) - Two or more years in a similar role.
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Training (Preferred) - At least one unit completed.
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills - Ability to connect with individuals from all backgrounds and faith traditions.
- Compassionate and Authentic Presence - A heart for service and a deep understanding of grief, loss, and end-of-life care.
