Job Title: Travel Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHT)
Location: Syracuse, New York
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Therapy Aide to support a Children/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit. This role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care in an acute behavioral health setting, ensuring patient safety and supporting therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect care to pediatric and adolescent psychiatric patients
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and patient behaviors
• Assist with patient admissions and orientation to unit routines
• Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and hygiene needs
• Develop therapeutic relationships and engage patients in activities
• Assist in crisis intervention and maintain a safe environment
• Perform safety checks throughout the shift
• Collect specimens and assist with physical assessments as needed
• Transport patients within the facility
• Document patient information using electronic medical records (EMR)
• Communicate patient updates and concerns to nursing staff promptly

Schedule & Work Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of mental health or psychiatric experience (2 years preferred)
• Pediatric experience preferred
• Prior inpatient experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with EMR systems required
