job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with general accounting principles and company policies. This role supports the month-end close process, reconciliations, financial reporting, and assists with audits and tax preparation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and general ledger adjustments

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts monthly

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes

Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations

Prepare financial reports and summaries for management

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls

Assist in tax filings and regulatory reporting as needed

Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (internships may be considered)

Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and in a team environment
