Due to growth, acquiring new business and improving their EHS program, our client is hiring an EHS Manager to oversee multiple sites. As the EHS Manager, you will evaluate current processes and develop and improve successful EHS practices. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Champion the EHS program at multiple manufacturing sites
- Create a safety oriented culture and implement safety programs
- Implement, improve and regulate the safety, health and environmental policies and processes for the company
- Facilitate safety teams and delegate champions
- Work to achieve improvements within all safety initiatives, including established KPIs and goals
- Perform regular site inspections and audits for safety, health and environmental compliance
- Implement the accident investigation process and monitor for improvement
- Support and initiate improvements related to safety and environmental
- Communicate with and serve as the point of contact for external regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Champion the site emergency response team
- Create floor awareness through slogans and visual management
- Show a presence on the manufacturing floor to drive the company's safety initiatives
- Decrease the site's recordables and lost time accidents
- Support a cultural shift to a safety oriented company
- Keep updated documentation related to safety policies and regulations
- Assign and monitor safety training and ensure timely completion
- Other duties as directed by management
The company is seeking a candidate that enjoys spending up to 50-70% of their time on the manufacturing floor. Candidates should feel comfortable being a "Change Agent," creating buy in of safety initiatives, establishing rapport on the floor, and have a positive outlook and patience. The qualified individual will be passionate about building safety programs and being hands on in the process. REQUIREMENTS for the EHS Manager (Multi-Site):
1. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, a high school diploma is required
2. At least 3-5 years in a lead plant EHS Manager position
3. Experience supporting safety initiatives in a manufacturing environment
4. Strong background creating and improving safety programs
5. Experience serving as the point of contact for regulatory agencies, such as EPA, OSHA, etc.
6. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations for manufacturing plants, such as lockout/tagout, machine guarding, fall protection, etc.
7. Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
1. Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training or certifications
2. Metalworking experience
3. Experience working in job shop environments
4. Supervision of others
5. EMT or firefighter experience
6. Previous multi-site responsibilities
