Deliver compassionate care as an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in medical-surgical and oncology within a dynamic hospital setting. This contract opportunity offers a chance to utilize your clinical expertise on a 36-bed unit providing care for med-surg, oncology, and hospice patients. The role demands a detail-oriented, team-focused professional who values patient-centered care and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include managing complex nursing procedures such as wound vac changes, drain removals, IV/PICC line and Foley catheter insertions/removals, as well as NG tube management. You will care for stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring without interventions, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including Clinical Care Coordinators, LPNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries. Documentation is completed using the Meditech system, ensuring accurate and timely recording of patient care.
Schedule:
- Every third weekend shift required
- No call responsibilities
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure
- BLS certification required
- Experience in oncology and med-surg nursing preferred
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy unit
- Familiarity with medical equipment such as I-Mobile, Neurons vital sign monitors, PCA pumps, wound vacs, chest tubes, and surgical drains
