Job Description
Business Operations & Development Intern
Invite Only Studios (Chelsea, NYC)
Hybrid (On-Site + Remote)
Invite Only Studios is a world-class recording facility and creative hub in Chelsea, NYC, home to leading artists, producers, writers, and creative teams. We also operate Crash Dummies Productions (music & creative services) and the School of IO, our music and audio education program.
We are seeking a Business Operations & Development Intern to support internal studio administration and assist in the growth of our client, partner, and student networks. This is a hands-on role designed for someone interested in music business, creative operations, entrepreneurship, and relationship-building within the industry.
Responsibilities
Operations / Administration
• Assist with studio scheduling, session coordination, and day-to-day workflows
• Maintain CRM + contact databases (labels, artists, educators, clients, students)
• Support class operations for the School of IO (rosters, communication, scheduling)
• Participate in internal planning, project tracking, and documentation
Business Development / Outreach
• Assist in outreach to artists, labels, music supervisors, creative partners, and schools
• Help identify and research potential new clients, partners, and collaborators
• Draft outreach messages, follow-ups, and relationship touchpoints
• Support development of proposals, decks, and partnership one-sheets
• Learn how to track lead pipelines, convert inquiries, and grow creative networks
You will be coached through outreach — you are not expected to “sell” alone. This is structured learning in professional communication and deal flow.
What You’ll Learn / Gain
• How a major recording studio, production team, and creative education program operate
• Professional communication, outreach strategy, and client relationship management
• Real experience with CRM systems, scheduling tools, project coordination, and pipeline tracking
• Exposure to producers, artists, music supervisors, educators, and partners
• Mentorship in professional growth, creative industry etiquette, and career direction
This internship prioritizes learning, mentorship, and real operational experience, not errands or busywork.
Who You Are
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable with outreach and building relationships (or excited to learn)
• Interested in music, education, studio culture, or creative business
• Able to dedicate 10–15 hours/week (hybrid schedule; some in-studio time)
Compensation
This internship is unpaid and can be taken for academic credit where available.
We provide any university documentation needed for credit approval.
