SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Talent Acquisition Specialist position is an early career level role for a professional with relevant education, training or experience that will support human resources recruiting initiatives. This position is a part-time, 20 hours per week position that plays a key role in attracting, engaging, and retaining talent while promoting the company’s culture, brand, and employee experience. The Specialist partners closely with hiring managers, supports the full recruitment lifecycle, assists with onboarding and compliance training, and contributes to internal and external marketing efforts through content creation, social media, events, and communications.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, creative, and people-focused professional who is interested in building a career in talent acquisition and employer branding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to understand open positions, job requirements, and hiring timelines.
- Coordinate and execute recruiting efforts for open positions, including posting roles, sourcing candidates, and managing applicant flow.
- Conduct initial candidate screening interviews and summarize interview results for hiring managers.
- Schedule and coordinate next-level interviews as needed.
- Prepare and coordinate offer letters and pre-employment documentation.
- Manage new hire orientation and required compliance training.
- Refresh, update, and maintain job descriptions as roles evolve.
- Stay current on employment laws and best practices related to hiring and onboarding.
Employer Branding & Recruitment Marketing
- Create and manage social media content and postings related to employment opportunities and company culture.
- Maintain and update career sites and assist with targeted job advertisements.
- Prepare blog content highlighting career opportunities, company culture, and employee experiences.
- Attend career fairs, university events, and networking opportunities to promote the organization and attract talent.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract passive candidates.
- Monitor and respond to online employer reviews (e.g., Glassdoor) in a professional and brand-aligned manner.
Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
- Create and manage quarterly employee newsletters to enhance internal communication and engagement.
- Prepare and mail employee birthday and anniversary cards.
- Schedule and coordinate company celebrations, including the annual Christmas party and other employee events.
- Create and manage short instructional or informational videos (e.g., Excel tips, Word tips, general workplace tools) and post content to the company intranet.
Administrative & General Support
- Order business cards and coordinate related administrative tasks.
- Review, reconcile, and process employee benefit carrier invoices, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission for payment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred. Associate Degree in Human Resources or Marketing is minimum requirement.
- Open to early-career professionals with relevant education, training or experience such as internships, campus recruiting experience, or related coursework.
- Experience with ADP Recruitment Tool is a plus.
- Experience with social media platforms is a plus.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with social media, design, or video tools is a plus.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Work Environment
- Office-based work environment.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for career fairs or company events.
