The Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow within a small healthcare team. Reporting to the Office Manager, this position manages appointment scheduling, patient communications, and coordination between patients, insurance providers, and medical staff. The role supports patient education and office operations to enhance the overall patient experience in a collaborative environment with a small team of 1-5 members. No travel is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently
- Manage and update medical records accurately
- Communicate with patients regarding visits, treatments, and follow-ups
- Coordinate with insurance companies for coverage and claims
- Manage referrals between healthcare providers
- Provide billing assistance and support to patients
- Educate patients on care procedures and office policies
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to improve patient care
- Perform accurate data entry related to patient and office information
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the office environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in healthcare administration
- Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes
