Fire Sprinkler Service Technician
Location: Onsite in Worthinton, OH
Pay: $30-40 per hour DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to inspect, test, maintain and repair fire protection systems across commercial, industrial and multifamily properties. The ideal candidate will ensure systems meet NFPA standards, respond to emergency service calls, and maintain accurate service records while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Inspection, Testing and Maintenance (ITM) on sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations
- Replace and repair sprinkler heads, valves, hangers and associated hardware
- Conduct system inspections for wet, dry, preaction, deluge and standpipe systems, identifying deficiencies and documenting required corrective actions
- Perform hydrostatic pressure testing, backflow prevention testing, hydrant flow testing and fire pump inspection and testing
- Install, test and maintain flow switches and tamper switches and verify proper integration with fire alarm systems
- Execute commissioning and acceptance tests for new and modified systems and prepare detailed reports
- Diagnose and perform emergency repairs to restore system operation quickly and safely
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry protocols and other safety practices while maintaining a clean and organized worksite
- Maintain accurate service records, test reports and customer documentation; communicate findings and recommendations to customers and supervisors
- Participate in preventive maintenance programs and scheduled service routes; respond to oncall and afterhours service requests as required
Qualifications
- 2+ years of fire alarm or sprinkler experience.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards is a plus.
- Experience with fire pumps and system diagnostics.
- Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge and standpipe systems, fire pumps and foam suppression systems preferred.
- Valid drivers license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel to customer sites
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks safely
