Job Title: Medical Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview:

Tidewater Neurologists, Inc. and Sleep Disorder Specialists SleepMed Hampton Roads are seeking a dedicated and motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time position with the potential for professional growth. The ideal candidate will provide essential support within our healthcare team, assisting with patient care and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
• Prepare and maintain patients’ medical records and documentation
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring effective communication
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and medical supplies
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless patient care
• Perform administrative duties, including data entry and maintaining accurate records in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some post-secondary education in healthcare is a plus
• MA Certification required
• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a specialty practice
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (Athena preferred, but willing to train)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service skills
