Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Full-time Preschool Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering a nurturing classroom environment, and supporting the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children aged 3-5 years. This role requires a passionate educator who can bring creativity, patience, and a love for early childhood education to our preschool community.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging curriculum that aligns with state early learning standards and our preschool's educational philosophy
- Create a warm, welcoming, and safe classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration
- Plan and conduct daily activities, including circle time, storytelling, arts and crafts, music and movement, and outdoor play
- Observe and assess children's development, maintaining detailed records of their progress
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, concerns, and achievements
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Supervise and guide teacher assistants and volunteers in the classroom
- Prepare materials and set up activities for each day's lessons
- Manage classroom behavior and implement positive discipline techniques
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students
- Encourage independence and self-help skills in children
- Foster social-emotional development and promote positive peer interactions
- Incorporate play-based learning experiences into daily activities
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a structured setting
- Strong understanding of child development theories and early childhood education best practices
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children
- Ability to create and maintain a warm, nurturing classroom environment
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and positive discipline strategies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and children's needs
