**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a Surgical Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist physicians and nurses in vascular procedures, maintain a sterile environment, prepare patients for surgery, and provide post-operative care.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Assist medical staff during vascular procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and helping with patient positioning.
2. Prepare surgical rooms by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
3. Prepare patients for surgery by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and positioning them on the operating table.
4. Provide post-operative care by monitoring patients' conditions, changing dressings, and assisting with recovery.
5. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories, medications, and treatments administered.
6. Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment.
7. Assist with patient follow-up by scheduling appointments, answering questions, and providing information on post-operative care.
**Qualifications:**
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
2. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.
3. Previous experience working in a surgical setting is preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and sterile techniques.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
