Are you an experienced Medical Assistant looking for a role where your skills can shine beyond the exam room? PCHC is seeking a Desktop Medical Assistant to play a key role in supporting providers and care teams across our adult primary care practices. In this unique, organization-wide position, you’ll serve as an Ambassador for PCHC—helping to ensure seamless coverage, exceptional patient experiences, and continuous process improvement. Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (Hybrid position, with some travel expected to PCHC clinics. Candidate must be eligible per PCHC’s Telecommuting policy.)

Highlights of the position:

  • Uses the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to all documents to provider desktop coverage.
  • Utilizes HIN Analytics in conjunction with the EMR.
  • Utilizes PMP to run reports for controlled substances
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation.
  • Acts as a key liaison to the organization by demonstrating excellent communication skills, initiative, self-direction, confidentiality, discretion and mission-focus while communicating with patients and collaborating with providers and clinical staff.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, as assigned.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of providers at sites, including specialties, locations, and availability.
  • Is responsible for Organization Medical Assistant Desktop Management: reviews phone notes, lab results, refills and portal messages for all primary care staff desktops.
  • Contacts patients as needed by telephone or portal to complete tasks and gain clarification

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Evidence of Medical Assistant training including all the essential job functions, knowledge, skills and abilities listed here in this job description, or MA Certification.
  • 3+ years Medical Assistant Experience required
  • Will have up to date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety Institute. Must obtain within 2 weeks of hire.
  • Initial and maintained Certification is highly encouraged and supported.
