Job DescriptionWe are looking for a diligent and organized accounting specialist to join our team in Clearwater, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with sales and use tax regulations while collaborating closely with the accounting department. Responsibilities:
• Manage exemption certificates and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Research and validate customer documents across multiple states to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Collaborate with clients to gather and verify necessary information while providing excellent customer service.
• Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate records related to sales and use taxes.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze tax-related data effectively.
• Assist in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes as needed.
• Monitor and address discrepancies in tax documentation and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to tax compliance processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of tax compliance procedures.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency of the accounting department through multitasking and problem-solving.• Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions.
• Familiarity with sales and use tax compliance processes across multiple states.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data organization and analysis.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is highly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.
• Ability to work on-site with potential for remote work one day per week.
