The Financial Analyst will provide comprehensive program financial analysis and reporting support to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial management of government contracts. This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis and a strong working knowledge of government accounting and financial systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing and reconciling complex financial transactions, applying accounting principles, and supporting program managers with actionable financial insights.
Requirements:
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Perform detailed program financial analysis, ensuring compliance with Federal accounting standards and agency-specific guidelines.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile financial reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
- Monitor, track, and forecast program expenditures against budget and funding allocations.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance financial tracking and reporting efficiency.
System Utilization & Data Management
- Utilize government accounting/financial systems including:
- Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
- Comptroller Financial Information System (CFIS)
- Commanders’ Resource Information System (CRIS)
- FMSuites
- Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS)
- Government Approved Accounting Systems
- Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF)
- Track appropriations and stages of accounting for program budgets.
- Maintain accounting controls and document financial transactions in accordance with government standards.
Program Support
- Collaborate with program managers, contracting officers, and technical teams to provide financial guidance and status updates.
- Support the development of budget submissions, funding requests, and spend plans.
- Assist with audits, data calls, and financial reviews as required.
- Prepare briefing materials and present financial data to senior management and government stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in program financial analysis.
- Working knowledge of federal accounting and financial systems (WAWF, CFIS, CRIS, FMSuites, DEAMS).
- Familiarity with appropriations, stages of accounting, and federal accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze financial transactions, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accounting controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience supporting DoD or federal acquisition programs.
- Knowledge of federal budget execution processes and regulations.
- CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification.
Security Clearance Requirement
- Active Secret Clearance strongly preferred; must be able to obtain and maintain clearance as a condition of employment.
