About the Position
We are seeking a dynamic Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a federal contract. The SME will provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for complex systems and program requirements, with a focus on training, policy guidance, and continuous process improvement.
The duties of this position will be performed remotely, with travel to client meetings or events as needed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical authority on transit data collection, validation, and reporting.
- Lead problem definition, analysis, requirements development, and solution implementation for complex systems.
- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions using best practices in instructional systems design and adult learning principles.
- Provide advice on process improvements, organizational optimization, and system maintenance.
- Collaborate closely with federal stakeholders and project leadership to address emerging needs and priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related field; Master’s degree (MA/MS) may substitute for 3 years of experience.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in transit, transportation data, or relevant subject matter area—strong preference for federal or FTA experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design and adult learning.
- Proven record of making recommendations and guiding organization-wide improvements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel as required.
