Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC/R, Refrigeration & Commercial Systems)
Location: Fife, WA
Salary: $120,000 - $160,000
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical system projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with HVAC, commercial refrigeration, and mechanical system installations and is comfortable managing a mix of service-driven projects and larger installation efforts. This individual will play a key role in maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring project execution aligns with performance, quality, and timeline expectations.
Our client is a well-established mechanical services provider specializing in HVAC/mechanical systems, refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, and electrical coordination. The company supports commercial and industrial clients through installation, service, maintenance, and system upgrades, with a strong focus on reliability, responsiveness, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through completion
- Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
- Oversee installation of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, piping, and commercial kitchen equipment
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure scope accuracy and constructability
- Adapt to evolving project conditions, service demands, and timelines
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, OSHA standards, and local codes
- Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and all project documentation
- Manage procurement of equipment including HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and mechanical components
- Monitor project progress, installation quality, and system performance
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical project management (HVAC/R, refrigeration, or mechanical systems)
- Experience managing commercial mechanical construction or service-driven installation projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical piping systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and mechanical specifications
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
- Familiarity with electrical coordination within mechanical projects
- Background in design-build or fast-paced service environments
- Experience supporting industries such as food service, hospitality, healthcare, or commercial facilities
- Experience with commercial kitchen equipment installation
