Inbound Supervisor
Location: Pico Rivera, California
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Salary: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Position Summary
PGS360 is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inbound Supervisor to oversee all inbound warehouse operations, including receiving, putaway, inbound quality control, and inventory intake activities. This position is responsible for ensuring inbound inventory is received, processed, inspected, and stored accurately while maintaining productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational efficiency.
The Inbound Supervisor provides leadership and direction to the Inbound Lead, Putaway personnel, and Inbound QC team members while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, company procedures, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily inbound operations, including receiving, unloading, putaway, inventory intake, and inbound quality control activities.
- Supervise the Inbound Lead, Putaway personnel, and Inbound QC personnel.
- Coordinate staffing assignments and workflow priorities based on inbound volume and operational requirements.
- Ensure all inbound inventory is received, inspected, and processed accurately within established timelines.
- Monitor receiving productivity, inventory accuracy, and inbound service performance.
- Review receiving documentation, packing slips, manifests, and inventory records for accuracy.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control to investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged inventory.
- Ensure inventory is promptly transferred from receiving areas to designated storage locations.
- Conduct operational audits and floor inspections to verify compliance with SOPs, customer requirements, and safety standards.
- Monitor dock activities and ensure safe material handling practices.
- Track and analyze operational KPIs, including receiving productivity, inventory accuracy, labor utilization, and inbound turnaround times.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and development of inbound personnel.
- Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and workplace performance.
- Communicate operational updates, staffing concerns, inventory issues, and workflow challenges to warehouse leadership.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on inbound efficiency and inventory accuracy.
- Conduct daily operational audits and floor inspections to verify compliance with SOPs, customer requirements, and safety standards.
- Ensure all non-conformities are documented escalated to management before any product movement resumes.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for inbound floor operations, with authority to halt receiving or putaway and escalate immediately when non-conformities, discrepancies, or safety issues arise.
- Support warehouse operations with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of warehouse, receiving, logistics, or distribution experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of receiving, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
Preferred
- Experience in a third-party logistics (3PL) or fulfillment environment.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment.
- Experience with inventory audits, cycle counts, and discrepancy investigations.
- Knowledge of operational reporting and KPI management.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
- Regular use of computers, handheld scanning devices, and warehouse management systems.
