JOB ANNOUNCEMENT - ORDINANCE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

PAY RATE: $23.23- $34.41 per hour (depending on experience, education, and certifications. Typically year-for-year).

The Animal Services / Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with city codes, ordinances, and animal control regulations. This role involves enforcing and educating the public on applicable laws, conducting proactive patrols, and responding to citizen complaints related to animal services and code enforcement issues. The officer serves as a key representative of the City, promoting public safety, community awareness, and responsible pet ownership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY:
Minimum (2) years experience performing related duties preferred.
Must be in good standing at a current agency (if employed) or have retired within the past 2 years.
High school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent.
Must have a valid Utah driver's license or have the ability to obtain one before employment.
Must be able to pass an in-depth background investigation.
COMPENSATION:
The pay range for full-time police officers is $23.23 - $34.41 per hour, depending on experience, education, and certifications. Previous years of experience and certifications will be considered when negotiating pay, at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
