About the Role
We are seeking an organized and experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize the logistics operations for one of our Ronkonkoma based clients. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of our food and beverage products while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily transportation operations, including routing, scheduling, and carrier management.

Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery performance, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Monitor KPIs and transportation metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.

Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams to align logistics with business goals.

Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts and service agreements.

Oversee fleet maintenance and ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards.

Lead, train, and develop a team of drivers and logistics personnel.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in transportation or logistics management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.

Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, routing software, and transportation management systems (TMS).

Proven leadership and team management skills.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong knowledge of transportation industry software such as Omnitracs (highly preferred), Samsara, Lytx, and RoadNet
Preferred Skills
-
Experience with perishable goods or temperature-controlled logistics.

Familiarity with ERP systems and data analytics tools.

Lean or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Pay Details: $100,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
