Quality Technician

The Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining AS9100 documentation and the Quality Management System (QMS), as well as inspecting and monitoring manufactured products to ensure compliance with internal specifications and customer/industry standards. This role is essential in maintaining product quality, reducing defects, and ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying and resolving quality issues accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process, first-article, final, and receiving inspections using standard measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Perform functional testing using gauges, test equipment, and specialized tools.
  • Accurately complete and maintain inspection records, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Assist in the preparation, revision, and control of quality documentation, including work instructions, inspection criteria, and control plans.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure measurement equipment is properly calibrated and operating correctly.
  • Monitor production processes for quality issues and support root-cause investigations.
  • Ensure product compliance with customer, regulatory, and applicable industry standards (e.g., AS9100).
  • Participate in problem-solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, and Kaizen events.
  • Communicate quality issues clearly and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns.
  • Provide feedback and training to operators regarding quality standards and proper inspection techniques.
  • Assist and lead during internal, customer, and external third-party audits.


Requirements

Essential Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in quality or manufacturing preferred.2+ years of experience in a quality or inspection role within a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with measurement tools and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF, and familiar with statistical process control (SPC).Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and analytical problem-solving skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and QMS database.

Additional Skills & Attributes: Suitable for entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing quality environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting. Experience with quality inspection and machine operation is beneficial.
