Job Description
Join a dynamic team to assemble electrical and mechanical parts into finished products utilizing various tools and assembly process equipment. You will cross-train in areas such as mechanical, electronic, testing, microscope work, soldering, and finishing. Your role will involve frequent use of screwdrivers, torque wrenches, and potentially a variety of adhesives and chemicals. You will also use computer workstations for record-keeping and testing purposes, perform electronic testing on final assemblies, and engage in quality control inspection functions.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components into finished products.
- Cross-train in mechanical, electronic, testing, microscope, soldering, and finishing areas.
- Frequently use screwdrivers and torque wrenches.
- Hand soldering as required by department needs.
- Utilize a variety of adhesives and chemicals in the assembly process.
- Operate computer workstations for record-keeping and testing.
- Conduct electronic testing on final assemblies using various test equipment.
- Perform quality control inspections.
- Lift up to 40 pounds consistently.
Essential Skills
- Experience in assembly and production.
- Proficient in using small screwdrivers and torque wrenches.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Skilled in soldering and using microscopes.
- Familiarity with work instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- IPC/J-STD certification highly preferred.
- Experience with PCB or small part assembly is required.

Work Environment
Work the first shift from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. You will be provided with a smock and safety glasses, though safety toe shoes are not provided. Be prepared to work in a large production area with various lines supporting gas and flame detection sensors. Cross-training is offered to place employees in departments that best suit their skills and preferences. Please be aware that epoxy smells can be strong in certain areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
