Position Overview

The Senior Research Manager will lead a dynamic international team responsible for designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative public perceptions research across more than 130 countries worldwide. You will oversee all phases of the research process while ensuring adherence to methodological rigor and quality standards - from instrument design and validation through fieldwork coordination with global research partners to advanced data processing, analysis, and strategic reporting. This role requires exceptional project management capabilities, the ability to mentor junior researchers, and the capacity to translate complex research findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Location & Work Hours

This is a fully remote position. The selected candidate will work during DCG's core Eastern Standard Time business hours (approximately 9am-5pm EST).

You will:

  • Lead and oversee quantitative and qualitative public perception research projects from inception to completion
  • Design and review questionnaires for representative interviewer-administered and self-administered surveys
  • Create and review sampling plans to ensure research validity
  • Implement robust quality controls throughout the research process
  • Oversee fieldwork operations and data collection across multiple countries
  • Process and validate datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Prepare reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Strategic resource allocation across multiple task orders, ensuring optimal team utilization and project delivery timelines
  • Development and presentation of comprehensive proposal build-ups for client task order requests, including budget forecasting and resource planning
  • Training and performance management of research staff, including conducting regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and identifying professional development opportunities
  • Cross-functional coordination between research teams, stakeholders, and clients to align project objectives and methodological approaches
  • Budget oversight and financial management across multiple research initiatives, including tracking expenditures and ensuring projects remain within scope

Qualifications/Skills

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in research management
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing international quantitative and qualitative public perception research projects
  • Expertise in survey methodology, including questionnaire design, sampling techniques, and data processing
  • Experience with qualitative data collection methods (focus groups, in-depth interviews, document analysis)
  • Experience with representative surveys and quantitative data collection, including creating and reviewing sampling plans, fieldwork oversight, and data weighting
  • Experience managing multiple surveys simultaneously, including both CAPI and CATI methods
  • Proven track record as a trainer for research teams and partners
  • Experience developing and managing project finances and resource allocations
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
  • Experience with people management, mentorship, or coaching
  • Fluency with SPSS, including creating and running syntax, or another relevant statistical program

Preferred Qualifications

  • Language fluency other than English and/or regional expertise a bonus
