We are looking for an experienced Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our team in Rogers, Minnesota. In this contract role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring payroll processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient, while working within union agreements and labor regulations. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in payroll administration who thrives in detail-oriented environments.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the complete payroll cycle, including data entry, validating timesheets, calculating deductions, and processing benefits.
• Ensure compliance with union agreements, collective bargaining terms, and labor laws to accurately handle payroll provisions.
• Conduct audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations, generating necessary reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• File payroll tax returns and ensure timely payments for benefits and deductions to appropriate entities.
• Complete quarterly and annual payroll reports, including W-2 forms and unemployment filings.
• Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, inquiries, and disputes efficiently, collaborating with stakeholders to solve complex issues.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and procedural requirements.
• Submit monthly union reports and ensure proper adherence to union-related payroll processes.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll administration, including multistate payroll handling.
• Proficiency in payroll software systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical abilities to organize, analyze, and interpret large sets of payroll data with precision.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Familiarity with union contracts, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• High level of attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills to convey payroll-related information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
