Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to work full-time in a K-12 school setting, serving students in the Franklin, TN area. The position requires a Tennessee teaching license with a Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement. The role is on-site and contract-based, starting in January and continuing through late May 2026.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with DHH endorsement
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students within K-12 education
- Ability to manage caseloads and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Effective communication skills tailored to students with hearing challenges
- Commitment to on-site instruction and collaboration with school staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess students learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching approaches as needed
- Maintain accurate records and comply with local education regulations
Location: On-site position based in the Franklin, Tennessee area.
Duration: January to May 22, 2026 (contract term).
