AP Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable

  • Own the full-cycle AP process for two companies
  • Review invoices, match supporting documentation, and ensure accurate coding and approvals
  • Process vendor payments and manage weekly check runs
  • Reconcile corporate credit card activity
  • Maintain vendor records and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Collaborate with purchasing and receiving teams to ensure proper invoice flow and PO processing

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Process payroll
  • Enter payroll-related journal entries into QuickBooks
  • Assist with payroll reporting and payroll-related audits
  • Support administration of employee benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and supplemental coverages
  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure accurate time and attendance information

Accounting Support

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end close activities
  • Support KPI reporting and operational data collection
  • Help improve accounting processes and identify opportunities for greater efficiency
  • Participate in future system enhancements, including potential payroll platform migration initiatives

Environment & Systems

  • QuickBooks (required)
  • Payroll system experience

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Experience processing payroll for multi-location organizations
  • Ability to prepare and post journal entries
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
