About the Role
SJCH is seeking a Per Diem Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support clinic coverage as a float provider across our Los Angeles locations. This role provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to a diverse population while supporting operational needs, including evenings and Saturdays.
You’ll practice within an integrated care model alongside medical, dental, and behavioral health teams.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions within scope of practice
- Deliver preventive care, health education, and family planning services
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and immunizations as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, whole-person care
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR
- Support clinic coverage needs, including evenings and weekend shifts
Schedule Expectations:
- Per diem coverage based on clinic needs
- Includes evening clinics and Saturdays as scheduled (approximately two Saturdays per month, subject to clinic demand)
What You’ll Bring
For Nurse Practitioners (FNP):
- Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Completion of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
- National board certification (AANP or ANCC)
- Active, unrestricted California NP license
- NP Furnishing Number (or eligibility)
- For Physician Assistants (PA):
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- National board certification (NCCPA)
- Active, unrestricted California PA license
For All Candidates:
- Active DEA registration and BLS certification
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
