QA Electrical Engineer

Fireye is seeking a Quality Assurance Electrical Engineer, for its business in Derry, New Hampshire!

Fireye provides combustion and detection fire safety solutions that protect people and property.

The QA Electrical Engineer is responsible for the analysis, diagnosis, Root Cause Analysis, and the steps involved in the testing and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and finished products. The QA Electrical Engineer reports directly to the QA Engineering Supervisor and will interact with Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Test & Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales & Marketing teams to achieve the desired outcome, continually improve Fireye product and processes while aligning and driving the company culture.

Specific Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Uphold QA policies and procedures, updating them when necessary.
  • Test, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electronic products involving a wide range of components.
  • Conduct Preventative Maintenance, soldering, wiring, and perform electrical evaluations of products found defective in-house and returned by customers.
  • Keep customers informed of their submitted Customer Returned Products (RMAs). Provide status and reports as needed per our policies or upon request.
  • Collect and provide data for Quality Improvements as well as communicate and drive improvements based on this data.
  • Manage inventory of electronic assemblies for prompt customer order completion.
  • Maintain proper documentation of results from electronic evaluations.
  • Respond to customer questions and requests regarding RMAs via email and phone.
  • Cooperate with Finance, Sales & Marketing to issue warranty replacements and credits to customers.
  • Perform calibration on internal-use test boxes and maintain calibration documentation.
  • Provide feedback to the Test Engineering team regarding issues discovered during PM/calibration of test equipment.
  • Perform other tasks as needed by the Quality Assurance group.

Required Experience:

  • BSEE with 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Self-motivated individual that continually seeks growth.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and problem-solve complex issues.
  • Hands-on experience with component level troubleshooting of analog circuits.
  • Proficient in use and operation of electronic tools/equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, frequency counters, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Work, Outlook, and Excel software.
  • Demonstrated ability interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability in task ownership and execution with minimal supervision.
