The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), is seeking an experienced writer / producer / editor for the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program.

The core responsibilities will be to manage, write, produce, direct, and edit recruitment and training video productions primarily for manufacturing clients located throughout Virginia. The successful candidate must have proven skills in writing short and long form narrative scripts, storytelling, crafting web copy, coordinating pre-production logistics, developing client relationships, collaborating with other skilled videographers, and editing on Adobe Premiere Pro software.

The Virginia Talent Accelerator Program’s video services are part of a comprehensive suite of services which includes recruitment services and training in proprietary client manufacturing technologies, leadership, collaboration skills, and quality systems. These services are provided free of charge to eligible client companies as an incentive for locating major job creation projects in Virginia.

The successful candidate will be part of a six-person team that will consist of the Managing Director, two Producer/Writers and three Videographer/Editors. The position reports directly to the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program’s Managing Director of Video Services. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the program’s Instructional Designers, Talent Acquisition Specialists, Graphic Artists, and Animators.

The ideal candidate will bring the flexibility to either serve as a project contributor or lead a team that will shoot, edit, and deliver video projects. Leadership responsibilities will include coordinating shoot schedules with client contacts, coordinating logistics, making shooting / editing assignments, and coordinating with clients incorporate their feedback into final video deliverables.

The ability to travel throughout the Commonwealth on a regular basis, and occasionally different parts of the country and internationally, is required.

Required qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience professional writing
  • At least 5 years of experience in writing, producing, and editing video projects
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Collaborative and open-minded with a high degree of enthusiasm and a willingness to deliver results in all circumstances
  • Excels under pressure, in a fast-paced, high-profile work environment
  • Enjoys meeting needs/deadlines of internal and external customers

Desired qualifications:

  • Substantial experience developing and delivering video to support training in manufacturing environments
  • Videography capabilities preferred but not required
  • Experience in professionally narrating video projects
  • Experience in editing video productions on Adobe Premiere Pro
