Bachelor's degree, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years Radiation Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert radiation therapy treatments in a dynamic clinical environment ensuring precision and patient-centered care. This contract role is based near Washington Navy Yard, DC, and offers day shifts Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional weekend call.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy preferred
- ARRT Certification in Therapy RT(T) required
- Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist through Department of State Health Services required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- 3-5 years of experience as a credentialed Radiation Therapist (RTT)
- Must reside within 100 miles of the location
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily ionizing radiation treatments under the guidance of a radiation oncologist
- Perform simulation and treatment calculations collaborating with radiation oncologists and physics personnel
- Conduct daily equipment warm-up and Quality Assurance for treatment machines and CT simulators
- Educate patients and families about radiation treatment processes to alleviate concerns and provide clear information
- Ensure all treatment data is accurately communicated to the care team for dose calculation and treatment planning
- Comply with standard treatment protocols and secure sign-off for critical processes from the radiation oncologist
- Operate advanced equipment including Linear Accelerator, CT Simulator, ADAC Treatment Planning System, and VARIS System
