Clinical Director (Dual Diagnosis Residential | Lantana, FL)



Position Overview

We’re hiring a seasoned Clinical Director to lead and oversee all clinical operations within our accredited dual-diagnosis residential treatment center in Lantana, FL. Our 55-bed, 30-day program has a strong track record of delivering high-quality care to adults navigating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

The Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based care while maintaining full compliance with Florida DCF requirements and Joint Commission standards. This leadership role requires strong clinical judgment, regulatory knowledge, team development skills, and the ability to foster a positive and accountable treatment culture grounded in compassionate care.


Key Responsibilities


Clinical Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and oversee all clinical programming, including individual therapy, group therapy, case management, and treatment planning
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and guidance to licensed and unlicensed clinical staff
  • Ensure implementation of evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care
  • Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, and clinical documentation


Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with Florida DCF, payer requirements (Medicaid/insurance as applicable), and Joint Commission standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies and procedures
  • Monitor documentation for accuracy, timeliness, medical necessity, and overall quality
  • Lead internal audits and support external surveys/inspections


Program Development

  • Support the development and enhancement of clinical programming within a 30-day residential model
  • Evaluate outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Support census growth while maintaining clinical integrity and ethical standards


Team Development

  • Hire, onboard, train, and evaluate clinical staff
  • Provide ongoing supervision and performance management
  • Build a collaborative, ethical, client-centered environment


Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in leadership meetings and organizational planning
  • Partner closely with nursing, medical, operations, and admissions teams
  • Serve as a clinical representative to referral sources and community partners


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active, unrestricted state licensure (LCSW, LMHC, PsyD, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment
  • 2+ years in a supervisory/leadership role (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care
  • Demonstrated experience treating co-occurring disorders
  • Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards and medical necessity


Preferred Experience

  • Residential level of care experience strongly preferred (Detox/PHP experience a plus)
  • Joint Commission accreditation experience
  • Experience with insurance authorizations and utilization review
