Position Title: Billing Coordinator

ShareHouse, Inc. is celebrating our 50th year in business. We are ranked the Best Residential and Outpatient chemical dependency treatment center in the region and we are looking to hire a full-time Billing Coordinator.
JOB SUMMARY
This position maintains and administers the insurance and third-party payer information to ensure accurate funding is received on a timely basis, ensures that billing is completed for clinical services, and performs accounts receivable duties.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Verify insurance and/or third-party payer benefits for potential and existing clients to ensure timely and continued payment for services
- Knowledge of medical billing practices, including ICD-10, HCPCS, and revenue codes.
- Ability to read and interpret remittance advice and apply payments accurately
- Skilled in posting payments, making claim adjustments, investigating/appeal claim denials.
- Taking ownership of investigating, appealing and resolving denied claims to maximize reimbursement.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of insurance reimbursement processes.
- Assist clinical staff with benefits eligibility process to ensure that services provided are funded
- Prepare billing client statements monthly and follow accounts receivable process through to collection as needed to ensure prompt communication of funds owed and timely receipt of payments
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorization status, denials, claims submissions, and other insurance-related issues to maintain current and correct and updated information on available coverage for clients
- Process accounts receivable, deposits and credit card payments to ensure funds are available for use in a timely manner
- Respond to accounts payable and receivable inquiries and follows up in an appropriate time frame to provide accurate and timely information
- Provide and maintain reliable and prompt attendance, with the ability to work the schedule dictated by business necessity
PERIODIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make bank deposits as needed/requested
- Assist clients and other responsible parties with questions on statements and billing, setting up payment plans as needed
- Answer client questions on benefits coverage
- Act as back-up to other billing coordinators, providing coverage in the event of an absence
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree and
- Two years relevant work experience or
- High School Diploma and
- Four years related experience
