RN Unit-Based Educator – Emergency Department (Full-Time, 10-Hour Shifts)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and confidence of nursing staff.

  • Lead onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the department.

  • Assess and support ongoing competency development, professional growth, and career advancement opportunities for nursing staff.

  • Translate hospital objectives, regulatory standards, and quality initiatives into practical, department-level training.

  • Maintain education records to ensure compliance with professional and regulatory standards.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative learning environment that aligns with organizational values and enhances patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master’s in Nursing or a related field required (candidates without a Master’s must complete the degree within two years of hire).

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, plus at least two (2) years in an educator role within an acute care setting.

  • Licensure & Certifications:

    • Active California RN License (Required).

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required).

    • Certification in Staff Development or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) (Preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in implementing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.

  • Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are highly desirable.

  • Strong computer proficiency and ability to use digital education tools effectively.

Location & Work Type

  • On-Site Position – Work directly in a dynamic, fast-paced emergency department environment.

  • Full-Time, 10-Hour Shifts
