Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in Clayton, Missouri, on a long-term contract basis. This role focuses on business-to-business (B2B) collections and accounts receivable management, requiring excellent communication and analytical skills to ensure timely payments while fostering positive client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience and demonstrate a proactive approach to resolving payment issues and maintaining compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to secure timely payments.
• Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, including partial payments and disputes, ensuring account accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and escalate unresolved concerns when necessary.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and positive relationships with customers while enforcing payment terms.
• Document collection activities, including call logs, resolution notes, and payment arrangements, in the company’s system.
• Prepare regular reports for management detailing collection statuses, account risks, and outstanding balances.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to collections.
• Utilize financial software tools to streamline collection processes and improve efficiency.
• Provide recommendations for improving collections strategies based on industry trends and client feedback.• 3-5 years of experience in B2B collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
• Proficiency in financial or accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Oracle.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and formula building.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve payment issues effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients while addressing sensitive financial matters with attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle account discrepancies and disputes.
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills to handle multiple accounts and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
