Job DescriptionDescription:

The We Help Warehouse Assistant is responsible for assisting with warehouse operations, receiving and unloading deliveries, and the sorting, storage, packing, and distribution of food. Also responsible for general facilities maintenance and cleaning.


Schedule

Monday – Wednesday 6:30 to 3:30 pm & Thursday 6:30 am to 7:30 pm


Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receiving and unloading daily deliveries and donations using a forklift and pallet jacks.
  • Drive forklift in a safe manner in moving products throughout the warehouse area and assisting in the loading and unloading of delivery trucks.
  • Accurately follow all receiving and inventory control procedures.
  • Unload, sort, store, pack, and distribute food.
  • Support We Help pantry, keeping pantry stocked with necessary food and hygiene items.
  • Maintain paperwork, logs, and receipts in an accurate manner.
  • Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner. Follow and maintain all health and sanitation codes.
  • Perform routine care and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Assist with trash pickup and removal.
  • Keep the grounds functional, presentable, and clean.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and safety.
  • Assist in daily setting up of warehouse.
  • Supports volunteer activities as necessary and assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal stakeholders.

  • Capability to prioritize inter- and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • Capability to use a broad range of technology.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • Forklift and pallet jack knowledge; certification preferred.
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 60 pounds or more on occasion; ability and stamina to repeatedly lift 25 to 30 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Ability to operate electric and manual pallet jacks, and a counter-balance forklift.
  • Proficient driving a small box truck and cargo van.
