Location: Fredericksburg, VA 22408
Pay: $32.95 – $48.00/hour (based on experience)
Additional Information
- Schedule: Full-time, Nights Only (rotating weekends)
- Sign-on bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis
- Relocation assistance: Up to $1,500 (case-by-case)
Position Overview
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers comprehensive respiratory care across emergency, critical care, and acute settings. This role includes performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, managing ventilatory support, and assisting patients in both routine and high-acuity situations. The RRT collaborates with a multidisciplinary team while utilizing advanced respiratory technologies to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Respiratory Assessment & Care
- Evaluate respiratory status through physical assessment, breath sounds, and airway evaluation
- Develop and implement appropriate respiratory care plans
Therapeutic Procedures
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance treatments
- Deliver evidence-based respiratory interventions across various clinical settings
Ventilation & Airway Management
- Assist with airway placement and ongoing airway management
- Initiate and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Monitor patient response and respond promptly to emergent situations
Patient Support & Collaboration
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatments
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
- Support neonatal stabilization during deliveries as needed
Equipment & Safety
- Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory care equipment
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Safely transport ventilated patients within the facility
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Active state licensure (RCP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (within 30 days of hire)
- Associate degree, vocational training, or certification in Respiratory Therapy
