We seek a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing the development of young children aged 18-30 months (toddlers). This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment that supports our students' social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Plan, implement, and assess a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs and interests of toddlers. Incorporate activities that promote language, motor skills, and social-emotional development.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment. Establish clear routines and expectations to support the childrens growth and ensure a respectful, inclusive atmosphere.
- Observation and Assessment: Regularly assess childrens progress and developmental milestones. Document and communicate observations to parents and guardians, and use this information to tailor instructional strategies.
- Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians. Provide regular updates on their child's progress and offer guidance on supporting their child's development at home.
- Safety and Health: Ensure a safe and clean classroom environment. Follow all health and safety protocols, including hygiene, food handling, and emergency procedures.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education. Engage in collaborative activities with fellow staff members to enhance the learning environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with assistant teachers and other staff members to deliver high-quality educational experiences. Support a team approach to classroom management and curriculum planning.
Qualifications:
- Education: Certification in early childhood education, child development, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications or licenses in early childhood education are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children aged 1-3 years in a classroom setting. Experience or willingness to adapt the Project-based learning (PBL) teaching method that involves students working on a project over an extended period of time to solve a real-world problem
- Skills: Strong understanding of early childhood development principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate learning activities.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift to 40 pounds.
- Capacity to sit on the floor, kneel, and engage in physical activities with children
